Taiwan’s shipping company Wisdom Marine Lines has reached an agreement to purchase a 58,000 dwt bulk carrier from Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance or nominee.
The company did not unveil the name of the vessel in question, however, it said that Wisdom Marine will pay JPY 665 million (USD 5.9 million) for the unit.
Under the terms of the agreement reached between the parties, the company will pay on a monthly basis and pay the balance after 7 years.
The bulker is currently leased under operating lease and will become a part of Wisdom Marine’s fleet following the conclusion of the transaction.
The Taiwanese owner operates a total of 116 vessels with an average age of 5 years, and has another 20 ships on order, according to data provided by VesselsValue.
The fleet consist of 81 bulk carriers, featuring a total of 5.5 million dwt, 28 small dry ships, 3 containerships, three specialised cargo vessels and one vehicle carrier.
